Both my wife and I commented on how the staff went out of their way to ensure your stay with them was pleasant and enjoyable. "Hotel Mazarin was an excellent choice for a long weekend in New Orleans for the NCAA Women's Final Four this week!
Located uptown of Jackson Square, on a quite street just minutes from all the Royal Street shops, Bourbon bars and all the FQ restaurants. Steps away from the streetcars of Canal street and just 3 blocks from the team's hotels, the shuttle to the Arena for all the games and action made this perfect for Women's basketball fans!
The hotel was very clean, well cared for, authentic french quarter with a beautiful courtyard and rooms. Breakfast was really great, and dealt well with both vegan and gluten free diets! The staff were superb!
I have recommended it to all my friends and I will definitely be back!"

"The Hotel Mazarin has a great location near Bourbon and also Canal so you can catch either street car to visit other areas of the city. The breakfast buffet is much more than continental as it has quite a variety of hot items but it does get a little boring after a few days. There is no pool but we were offered another pool from a nearby sister hotel. Our room opened into the courtyard and was pretty noisy with the fountain and loud guests sitting out there. We had a street view window but not much to see. There was no balcony which would have been nice. We booked a king room but when we saw the location which was very hard to get to with no view at all and very small, we asked for a different room and promptly received it. The new room only had 2 queens but was much bigger and in a better location. If you can get a decent price at this hotel, it is very nice and a good value."

"The hotel was beautiful and the location was perfect. The complimentary breakfast was a great way to start the day and added value to the package. It is very close to Bourbon Street so the back rooms over the courtyard filter some of the noise.
My only negative comment would be that we missed a bath( we had a shower only) and that we usually didn't have hot water. I would stay there again and certainly recommend it to others!"

"This is a very nice, very clean hotel 1/2 block from Bourbon St. It appears that they recently refurbished the hotel and are still in the process of doing so. The complimentary breakfast was absolutely wonderful. A cut above most complimentary breakfasts. Parking garage across the street accommodated our van quite nicely; there is a daily fee for parking/valet. The only complaint was the bartender in their bar. The music was so loud we could not talk to each other (or the waitress). When we asked the waitress to turn it down, she said the bartender would just turn it up again. So we asked the bartender directly to turn it down. He would not. We went to the front desk, and an employee went to the bar and asked that the music be turned down. The bartender turned it down slightly, but it was still too loud. When my husband went up to the bar a bit later to get a drink, the bartender ignored him. Other than this incident, our stay was great; we would stay there again."

"The Mazarin was a great choice for a place to stay in NO. It is located in the center of the French Quarter. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and hospitable. Always willing to help and provide, advice, directions and recommendations. Between Bourbon and Royal and just a refreshing walk from anywhere. The room was 'roomy' and well appointed. Could have used a little more table space, especially in the bathroom, and would have been more cozy with a love seat, but the bed and all other amenities were exceptional. Would stay there again.

"This hotel is in a great location on Bienville between Royal and Bourbon Streets, we only needed cab service on twice in all of our travels around the area. The staff was friendly and the Superior King suite was very nice and clean. Free Breakfast and WIfi were also very nice to have. Some complained about the tarp over the courtyard, this was there to allow use of the courtyard during rain and we found it to be a wise addition, although if we had a court yard view on the 3rd floor or higher as opposed to street view we may minded slightly."

"I found the Hotel Mazarin just wonderful. I got a good price (averaging about $160 plus about 20% in taxes), in early January, so that four days were under $800, and was upgraded without charge to a larger and very comfortable room. There is no smoking anywhere on the premises, which include an open air patio where they serve breakfast in warmer weather. The included breakfast is substantial and good. The staff was both friendly and helpful. The price I got was something like a 50% discount from their listed price, so the cost may be a factor in peak times, but the hotel is great, and it's a block from Bourbon Street, in the French Quarter, without being noisy or rowdy. I usually try not to give someone all highest ratings, because it looks as if I am uncritical, but this hotel deserved the top rating."

"What a wonderful hotel! The room was exactly as described, clean, and had the most comfortable bed. The staff were super friendly and accommodating the entire time that we stayed at the hotel (8 days). The breakfast was amazing - eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, FRUIT CUPS!, coffee, bagels, toast, yogurt, etc. The restaurant manager was exceptional and treated us very well. We loved that the hotel was 100% non-smoking. It is just off of Bourbon Street but we did not hear the noise at night. They are in the process of renovating the front of the building and we would love to see how it will turn out. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!"

"We just returned from New Orleans where we celebrated our 10 year anniversary. The hotel was beautiful and the bed was probably the most comfortable that I ever experienced. Though the breakfast was delicious, it was the same choices everyday (eggs, bacon, sausage, etc.). We stayed between Saturday - Tuesday. When we checked in, we specifically asked for a quiet room after reading reviews on this website. Our room was on the top floor but relatively close to Bourbon Street. We were up all night from the noise level from the street. The hotel moved our room the following night to the other side of the hotel which was much quieter. Overall, it was great experience."

"The Mazarin is a nice find, just a quick couple steps from Bourbon St. The rooms are not large, nor small. The beds are quite comfy, with warm duvets. Bear in mind, New Orleans is a humid city, so adjust your room thermostat accordingly. Our room was on the beautiful courtyard, so it was wonderfully quiet. The complimentary breakfast was good, but not amazing. Functional and they serve Community coffee, which gets them extra marks. Good water pressure in the marble-tiled shower, and very hot, if you like it that way. Our room was clean, although, housekeeping was a touch lax in changing towels. The hotel, in general is a nice tidy property, undergoing a minor exterior facelift. The staff are wonderfully courteous and outgoing, recommending restaurants and tours without a sigh, and they are very much into 'the local stuff' which is always better, and usually cheaper. All in all, the Mazarin is a steal for the pricepoint. We didn't eat in the restaurant, but that was a choice based on personal taste, not menu prices or decor. And don't forget the fresh madelaine treats on the front desk counter and the fruit water in the courtyard!!!"

" Beware! The Center courtyard is used for events ( weddings, parties, receptions, etc...) The rooms surround the Courtyard, The Parties play music, You hear in as clear and as loud as you can imagine. The problem I had was I was not aware of this at all, and when I asked I was told the music was to be over at 10:30. This was a Sunday Night and I had a early morning flight, I needed to sleep. I realized , and of course didnt expect them to turn the music down. After the manager on duty started to give me a little attitude, about that 'this is New Orleans and it is posted on our web sight that this occurs' He suggested they move our room, I of course agreed since there was no other option if I wanted to get any sleep. We where moved to a much smaller room, then what we paid for, in a remote room on the property, and we couldnt here the party at all. Unfortuniatly, No apologys, no attempted consideration for the room down grade and the total inconvienece of the whole experience.
As far as the Room cleanliness, ALL Good BUT! The bathrooms have black marble tile, the shower in our room, had a huge clump of Black Hair which was disgusting. Since it was black hair on black tile I assume the shower wasnt cleaned well and the hair was not noticed.I took it with me to show the front desk when I went to complained about the noise, The front desk clerk, said,' Thats the nastiest thing I ever saw, Gross' , i did received an apology for that, and was told they would speak with house cleaning about it."

Superb in every way and a most convenient location to fabulous restaurants in the quarter and shopping on Royal to walking distance to Jackson Square. The staff was most accommodating in arranging retaurant reservations with the charm and attentativeness that only the South offers. Room was attractive with marble floors throughout and overlooked the beautiful courtyard. Delicious 'full' breakfast including eggs, bacon sausage, grits, fresh fruit, several choice of breads and great coffee, plus juice...all to be enjoyed in the beautiful courtyard or indoor dining. "Where to start? This was our first trip to N'awlins and staying at this hotel made it great. It was a great location, close to everything. The staff, from the front desk to the servers at breakfast, were fabulous. They always had a kind word whenever we saw them. The hotel itself, was beautiful. The courtyard was a great place to just relax and chill. The breakfast each morning was great, and free. Grits, eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, juice, coffee....never had a free breakfast that expansive. Overall, an excellent experience. You won't do wrong staying here."

"Amazing! We could not have been any happier with the hotel. The staff was so helpful and courteous. From the time we pulled up to the door until we pulled away to leave, it was a great experience. The breakfast was fantastic. It is not your normal 'continental' breakfast. It was a meal on 'real' china and silverware and delicious. The courtyard is very relaxing and the room was so clean and up-scale. The parking fee is the only negative thing, but this is pretty common in city hotels, so not surprising. We had a room in the back on the 5th floor and never heard a noise in the evening or during the night. Very peaceful, and VERY convenient. I would rate it at least a 4 star!. We WILL make another trip to NO, an hopefully stay again! :)"

"This was one of the best vacations we have had, our room (King Superior) was clean and spacious. Great bath robes! Only thing lacking where the slippers, ask front dest for and was told they where out. (I'm a big slipper person) Burbon Street is just steps from hotel entrance. Breakfast was upscale for being included, and you are able to dine in or out in covered court yard. Staff was very friendly and accomadating, for needs, and directions. If you book the Mazarin you will not be disappointed. Only rated the efficency lower due to no slippers and having to ask for water in the room. We will come back and we will recommend!"

"Stayed 5 nights in July. The Hotel has been remodeled and is very nice, although some of the rooms are small. Our Deluxe King room was plenty large for 2 of us. There was a great hot breakfast included each morning, with plenty of other items to choose from as well The courtyard can get noisy late at night if you are in one of the rooms in the front, but overall we weren't too disturbed. It may be a problem if you're in NOLA for business, I would advise requesting a room in the back of the hotel. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and responsive. The location is awesome for all French Quarter activities. I would recommend this hotel and would definitely book here when in NOLA again."

"I stayed at Hotel Mazarin from July 12-15 2012. I am a bit of a hotel snob, and my room was very nice. The furniture and fixtures were great as far as hotels go. I think it was rated as a 3 or 3.5 star hotel, but I would say, easily, it is a 4 star hotel. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The courtyard is very tranquil and relaxing. The breakfast was really got as far as hotel breakfasts go. It was free and, anywhere else, it would be at $10 meal. I would definitely stay here again when next I am in New Orleans. Great Hotel!!"

"This was a wonderful trip for us, largely because of our experience at Hotel Mazarin. The location could not be better, only yards from Bourbon and Royal streets in the French Quarter. The staff was extraordinarily courteous and helpful. As said in other reviews, the complimentary full breakfast buffet offered a wonderful beginning to each day, and the lovely courtyard in which we dined served as icing on the cake.
The hotel is centrally located, with dining, entertainment, and shopping within easy walks. The recent remodeling - some painting still underway - and new furnishings provided a fresh and stylish ambience.
We will definitely return to this hotel on future trips to New Orleans."

"This was a wonderful trip for us mostly because of our experience at Hotel Mazarin. We could not have found a better location in the French Quqrter. It all started with Larry at the front desk and continued with housekeeking and the staff at breakfast. This was a full breakfast buffet with attention paid to every detail.
The rooms are large and very well appointed. The courtyard is beautiful with a lovely fountain. What really made this a special vacation was the bar Vin. My wife and I stopped in every evening before dinner for a glass of wine. The atmosphere there is very elegant and extremely friendly but the owner and his staff is the reason the place was so special. We got excellent dining advice from alll of these bartenders. Every suggestion they made was top notch. We look forward to a time when we can return to New Orleans, Hotel Mazarin, and the Bar Vin."

"Honestly, I was very disappointed. The pictures displayed online made you think every room had a balcony with doors you could open and that the rooms were large. That wasn't the case. We were put in a corner room with a view of the staircase. I will say the room was clean and styled nicely. The breakfast was also the best I've ever eaten at a hotel, but they honestly need to provide pictures of each room type so as not to confuse the customer. This was part of my honeymoon and I expected a wonderful room and got a simple room. The Wyndam on Barronne impressed me much more. I stayed there before I left for my cruise and then stayed at the Mazarin after. If I had known the room would turn out the way it did, I would have made my reservations after my cruise at the Wyndam."

"We booked the Petit King which was SMALL. However, it was well-appointed. The room was situated in a quiet and quaint area which also provided a small courtyard to sit, talk and enjoy a glass of wine. To our surprise, we heard no noise bustling from Bourbon Street.
Most of the staff members were very accomodating. They finally replaced the safe in our room on the third day of our stay.
Prior to booking, we read many great reviews about the breakfast. We were not disappointed as we enjoyed a well-balanced breakfast daily.
We redeemed the carriage rides without incident and enjoyed it!
Overall, it was a great experience and we will book here again as well as recommend it. "

"The courtyard view rooms are excellent, very spacious, and well appointed. The location is ideal, in great vacinity to Bourbon Street. The good thing is the room did not receive a large amount of noise, even though the hotel is so close to Bourbon. The breakfast was very good, and well worth the value. The only negative I have is that housekeeping did not replace the coffee in the room, so we did not have that amenity, we could only get it downstairs. Overall, this is one of my most enjoyable stays and I plan on returning in September."

"First, I would like to say that this is a very nice hotel and we would stay there again, as well as recommend it. One thing to consider is what room you book. I thought I was booking a Premium King because we wanted a balcony after looking at the pictures. When we got to our room, there was no balcony. We were on the second floor facing the court yard. Turns out I had made a mistake because when I went to the front desk to ask the person on duty to check our reservation, she told me I had booked a Deluxe King. Not wanting to create a scene, I thanked her and walked away. I do feel she should have offered to look and see if there was a balcony room available. It is very noisy facing the court yard. You hear the waterfall 24 hours a day and people talking as they eat breakfast in the court yard. The location is great and we really enjoyed the carriage ride."

"My husband and I just returned from 4 days and 3 nights in the New Orleans French Quarter and couldn't have had a better time! Even though it rained for the first two days, it did not hamper our fun. The Hotel was located perfectly between Royal and Bourbon Streets and a short walk to the French Market area and Cafe DuMonde. The Hotel was very clean and quiet despite the noise of Bourbon Street only a half block away, which is why we went there in the first place! The continental breakfast at the hotel was amazing and far better than expected. The Hotel Staff were very freiendly and eager to please and take care of you in any way possible. I would go back to this hotel again in a heart beat. The only dissapointment, if I had to say one would be the fitness room. Although it was equipped with cardio machines and free weights, it was very small and lacked space to do a weight workout. It also could have had a mirror. Other than that, the place was great and we can't wait for our next trip to NOLA!!!"

"While only 3 blocks from the worn and dowdy conference hotel, The Mazarin provided an outstanding alternative experience. A full breakfast, including non-watery eggs and crispy bacon, eaten in the lovely courtyard started each day in an upbeat and positive way.. While very close to noisy Bourbon Street, the rooms were very quiet. My room was newly and handsomely outfitted and the bed most comfortable. My only complaint was that there was no rubber mat for the shower, since the floor is smooth and can get slippery when wait. Hopefully, that small , but important item, will be provided soon. Great stay!"

"Just returned from our trip to New Orleans and I must say that our stay at Hotel Mazarin made it a wonderful experience. The staff was most friendly and made us feel like we were family. The room was just as it was described . WE were so happy with it . The breakfast was excellent each and every morning. We can't say enough about the entire staff."

"Nice hotel. Friendly staff. Stayed a week with two young kids and room met our needs. Would like to see a mini fridge in room. Staff was friendly. Location was great. We had a courtyard room and it insulated the sounds well enough to sleep. The balcony rooms would be to loud unless that is the experience you want. easy walking distance to everything we wanted to see. room was serviced every day and except for not sweeping under the beds everything was kept clean."

"Great location and easy walk to most places we wanted to see. Very lovely courtyard. We got a room on the quieter side. The staff was very helpful and had good recommendations on eating places too. Our room was clean, nicely appointed and just as described. The breakfast was really nice and worked perfectly for our family too. Our only complaint was the wake up call on the last day--it came at 3:50 AM instead of 5:30 AM as requested!"

"Beautiful Hotel that embodies the historic flair and charm of the French Quarter. What a wonderful renovation! The completely enclosed courtyard was large and cool and the fountain was majestic. When we got 'free breakfast' we were prepared for the basic carb loaded Continental Breakfast and were amazed and thrilled to find a beautiful layout of fresh cut fruit, Community Coffee, Sausage and Bacon and scrambled eggs cooked to perfection. Oatmeal or Grits were served on alternating days and the breads, bagels and pastries were great. Even a bagel toasting machine! Eating breakfast in the open light dining room or courtyard was a great way to start each day. The Bar on site was quaint and dark with a great wine selection as well as mixed drinks. EVERYONE on staff was always polite and helpful and we only opened our own entrance door one (to see the lobby waiter running for it before we could open it!). The Manager was very helpful as well. We can't wait to go back. Highly recommend this authentic French Quarter Hotel. Jonathan Boyaval and Mary Ellen Cassidy"

"For my sister's 50th birthday, we spent 4 nights and had a great time! The hotel has recently been re-furbished and everything is pristine. The beds are very comfortable, the towels and bathrobes are plush, and the breakfast is to die for!! (Especially the pain au chocolate and croissants!). The location is ideal to everything you need to get to (Bourbon Street, French quarter, French market, St. Charles streetcar, etc etc). We can't wait to go back!"

"The hotel is in a fabulous location in the French Quarter. The rooms are all renovated with marble floors, spacious bathrooms, and new furniture (the desk in our room was so new, it hadn't arrived yet!). As other reviewers have noted, not all the rooms have safes, mini fridges, or desks, but we got a great rate and we know the hotel placed those items on order. The hotel has a beautiful courtyard, although there is some dust around the edges from renovation work. Our room was mostly quiet but the acoustics of the courtyard result in some breakfast noise and some noise when they are working on the final touches of the renovation. The complimentary breakfast is delicious. The staff is extremely friendly, and one of them even ran our Pier 424 Seafood gift certificate to us while we dined. Overall we loved our stay at the Hotel Mazarin and would definitely stay there again next time we are in NO. Don't forget - you can use the pool at their sister hotel!"

"My husband and I with our 18 and 21 year old daughters stayed here for 3 nights during Spring Break. Our first impression of lobby was having us thinking I had made a poor choice. We had a 5th floor room with no balcony to street. The hotel is built around a courtyard but the courtyard was covered with a tent so we could not see it (only 1st and 2nd floor rooms could view courtyard). There was a tiny window so not much light in room. Beds were comfortable. Each staff member we came in contact with were extremely courteous and accommodating. Free breakfast was wonderful. Location was great. There is a small Wine Bar on premises that we really enjoyed. We would definitely stay here again but with a room with balcony or actual view of courtyard. Courtyard was lovely and cool with tent over it."

"I would like to start off and say the Staff was perfect and have no complaints about the Staff. They were very friendly. The hotel is just feet away from Bourbon street and located very well. The room was clean but it had to have been the loudest room I've ever stayed in. The noise was not from Bourbon street. We were put in room 201 and it sits next to the elevator and you can hear the elevator motor all day and night long. The doors in the room are loose fitting and the noise level that that comes in around them is terrible. Doors need to have a seal that fits tightly around them to reduce the noise. WE were woken up so many times that we decided to leave a day early so we could actually get some uninterrupted sleep. There was a towel placed in our bathroom that looked like someone detailed an oil tanker with it. I would not stay in this hotel again."

"Great Staff very helpful and friendly. Fantastic locaion. Well done complimentary breakfast. Room could have used a sittting or reading chair for comfort. Also the shower run off tended to flood the bathroom. Had to stack up towels to prevent this."

"Our stay at Hotel Mazarin was wonderful. There were a couple frustrations, but nothing that would stop us from coming back. Our room was a little smaller than it looked from the pictures, but still plenty of room for the two of us. It would have been nice to see a couch in the room, but still a beautiful room. Some reviewers said their rooms had refrigerators, but ours did not. The beds, as many others have said, are extremely comfortable. We LOVED the continental breakfast each morning, and being free makes it even better. Some notable items were the fresh cut fruit cups and the chocolate filled croissants. Each morning we looked forward to this breakfast and eating out in the courtyard. Our last day there was some conference being held so we weren't able to eat out in the courtyard which was a HUGE bummer. This and the noise complaint we had to make one night, which seemed to be some kind of construction noise in the hotel at 11:00 at night, were the only two problems we had. Our only recommendation is, make sure you get one of the rooms with the balconies as we wish we would have. We can't wait to go back!!"

"This was my first time going to New Orleans, LA and it was amazing! The hotel was beautiful inside and out, the rooms were beautiful with marble flooring and the softest bed you could sleep in. The staff was most helpful when it came to getting a cab, booking events, and assisting in anything we needed for our room. I would go back to Hotel in a heartbeat! It's location was great, right in the middle of Bourban St and Royal St. Perfect walking distance from street cars, Jackson Square & everything you wanted to do! I had a great time and my hotel stay was perfect. no complaints."

"I don't know where to begin. I would never recommend this 'hotel' to anyone. First we were put in a room that if you had the bathroom door open you could get to the main door and visa versa. We had no hot water in our shower because we were so far form the heaters. Our 'window' looked out at a stack of used soap dispensers and current construction that started every morning at 7am. If you could sleep through all the cars horns and alarms that were across the hall in the parking stucture good luck. It is highly overrated and expensive. The only saving grace is it's staff. They were all courteous and quite helpful and pleasant. Go elsewhere."

"I booked one room for my husband and I and One for a friend. I witnessed my friend request the room be placed in her name and to provide her credit card for payment. Even so my friends room was placed on my account and the hotel has refused to switch the charge even after both my friend and I have spoken to them and they found the paperwork. The hotel accounting section said it was their policy to charge the room to to the party making the reservation. The hotel experience was excellent. My overall experience one of exasperation and dismay. I would not recommend the hotel"

"The Mazarin is a little gem in the French Quarter. A fabulous courtyard for breakfast to start the day, and then for a nightcap to finish it. Our newly renovated room was superb - very clean and comfortable. You hear the occasional hoot from nearby Bourbon Street but not too much (although our room was at the back of the main hotel block). Overall, the Mazarin was our favourite hotel in six weeks of travelling throughout the U.S."

"Was great. You can't ask for a better location and they got all of the little things that make a difference in a hotel stay nailed. Every member of the staff looked us in the eye. They were friendly and very accommodating. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The breakfast and coffee was delicious. They give free water (a MUST in New Orleans). They had a small fridge for us to use which was perfect for extra water and those take home boxes of leftovers from dinner that taste so good around 2:00am. All in all a great stay. I'm not sure if I would like the rooms that are on the Bourbon Street side of the hotel as well, but our room on the opposite side of the hotel was wonderful."

"We stayed 4 nights in a deluxe king, which was well-appointed, with nice linens and decor. (3rd floor corner). We were very pleased and comfortable. Full breakfast in the Courtyard was good, and we enjoyed cocktails in Patrick's Bar Vin. Note that valet parking was very efficient and friendly, but about $40 per day. Our complaint was the wedding in the courtyard April 8, with a so-so jazz band and singer until 11pm... the music reverberated around the courtyard and flooded our room... we could not hear TV nor speak on the phone, and our room was a bit off in the corner. I mistakenly thought they would stop at 10pm; by 10:15 I tried to call the desk but the cordless phone was not charged. I called long-distance from my mobile, only to be told 'It's a wedding!' and she seemed puzzled why I was calling about the disruptive music. ALERT GUESTS WHEN THEY CHECK IN that, unless they are off the back courtyard, THE MUSIC WILL INTRUDE UPON THEM. When booking ask about events booked in the courtyard. Other than the wedding, we were very happy with the decor and ambience."

"I highly recommend Hotel Mazarin. The location is fantastic, we walked to all the exquisit resturants and toured the quarter all on foot. Occasionally we took the car to the Garden District. The staff at the hotel were wonderful, helpful and courteous.
The rooms are elegant and new and spacious. The breakfast was delicious and filling."

"We recently spent 4 days at Hotel Mazarin. The Front Desk staff was wonderful and really made you feel like they were glad you were there. The complimentary breakfast was amazing. It was arranged in the beautiful courtyard and the restaurant staff was attentive to any special requests. Our room was beautifully appointed and very clean. The Hotel is situated between Bourbon and Royal streets on Bienville but you would never know it because the room was vey quiet yet we were only steps from everything in the 'Quarter'.
We travel to NOLA often and think we have found our 'Home away from Home.
We would highly recommend Hotel Mazarin for your next stay in New Orleans
