"Hotel is charging $ 10 US for a simple bottle of water provided in the room ( which outrages when you have the All Inclusive package) .
Hotel does not have a jacuzzi . The swimming pools were too cold b/s half of the day they are in shade. For 5 days they have only one restaurant open for lunch with the same menu. Only one night during the whole week they have a dinner buffet ( only after people complained) , the rest of nights we had to sit and wait to be served.
3 times we had to remind them to clean our room .
On the other hand - the room was nice, the building is clean."

"Working in upstate NY was beautiful but we were getting frozen to the bone, so hubby said he needed a vacation. Booked it on Friday night, flew out on Sunday am. Arrived in warm Mexico that afternoon. Our first hotel in Playa del Carmen did not have our reservation! But we spent hours helping us find another great hotel and wonderful room at ME Cancun in our all-inclusive package. No balcony, but we didn't spend every minute in the room anyway! Lovely times out by the pool and beach. Lounged on one of the poolside beds (didn't opt for the extra priced ones...didn't need it). Staff kept us very happy with drinks...I love my margaritas and the better tequilas that I liked were NOT extra price! Enjoyed cappuchinos at the E-space every evening (also included in package). We enjoyed both 'outside' restaurants where we could eat in casual clothes (we didn't want to dress up on this vacation). The food was excellent. Staff were SUPER HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY with everything. We would definitely return here and we will recommend ME Cancun to our friends and family. Yes, you sign for everything, but each tag states 'NO CHARGE' at the top. I think they just use them to keep track of what is served (and maybe to let you know what you would've spent if it wasn't all-inclusive?) Very happy with our stay."

"Overall the hotel was just OK, there were several things that created
a bad experience and thought they should've done better.
First off the breakfast was decent; I did think it was anywhere
outstanding. After the first day I didn't even bother going but
instead waited for the lunch at The Beach House where the Fish Taco,
Ceviche and flank steaks were delicious and tender. The service here
was quite well managed during the day but at night for dinner, the
service was horrible. I felt like we were tricked into doing a family
style dinner where we were told that they would bring a couple of
appetizers and entrees to share and then the server were going to
bring more of whatever we wanted. Well after the 5 other big guys I
was sitting with at the table devour the small tasting we had we then
asked for more steaks. But we were denied!!! saying we needed to
leave because they needed the table for other guests. This was the
worst thing ever! Being kicked out of an All-Inclusive resort during
dinner is totally unheard of. After asking for more the lead waiter
came by and told us that whatever we wanted we should've asked for
more and he stated the server asked us but we said we were done which
was a total lie.
Getting multiple shots or drinks for your friends who all clearly had
All-Inclusive bracelets was a pain, the bar tender was telling me to
HOOK them up so I could get more than one to bring to my friends.
This then included everyone getting off their table and walking to the
bar to order their own drinks. This is uncalled for, you will get
tips when you I give you tip, and there is no need to ask.
The other issue was during the Brazilian steakhouse dinner, we came on
time as we had set up reservations ahead of time and was served
promptly BUT when you expect to come to an all-inclusive or even a
Brazilian steakhouse you expect to eat all you can till you flip the
green light to red or state that you no longer wanted anymore food. I
felt as we were kicked out as well because they were already bringing
desert. They slowly served us and some of the meats dishes never came
around, I had to get up to flag down the lead waiter to request more
food. This was a total disappointment!
Another thing I thought they should've had was some sort of
entertainment for the guest to have some sort of activities or group
sports. We had to hike down to another resort where there was an
activities coordinator setting up volleyball games and getting the
hotel guest involved.
Dinner at the silk was decent but the prime rib I ordered was not
prime rib but most likely a T-bone cut. We decided just to order our
own plates after having the bad experience at the Beach house.
All in all, I don't think I would go back again, I'm use to the buffet
style where you can eat when you want and what you want."

"ME Cancun was not a great as we thought it would be. There was absolutely no entertainment during the day. From Sunday -Wed no entertainment at night. Finally on Thursday of our trip they had a DJ. Friday the hotel was part of a fashion show and made that the top priority no their all-inclusive patrons. I felt it was very rude that the hotel made the adult pool an extra by making you pay for bottle service along with the beach club beds that are shown in a lot of their advertisements. Needless to say the beach party that was on the day we were leaving was located in the beach club area. Extra extra extra. Also having ti get up at 6 am to make sure you get a pool chair or a beach spot was not on my vacation list. Over all the food was great but making reservations each night was a pain. As a planner I would have rather had that taken care of before I went. Very poor resort for entertainment during the day and night."

"As previous reviews state, I dont understand how a hotel with such a high rating delivers such poor, slow service. If you are going somewhere where you hope to be waited on and served, do not choose this resort! Also, nightlife does not exist here! The rooms were clean, updated, and we were very pleased with the food. I would never go back and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It was really disheartening going to the bar to get drinks with several waiters standing around. It seemed as if they were almost upset when you asked for a drink. I hope management will look closely at how their staff is treating their guests!"

"This resort is not all-inclusive. While many things are included in the pricing, you have to pay extra for room service, certain meals and drinks, and poolside beds. They are limited as to what types of booze you can have and you have to sign for EVERYTHING you order which gets really annoying. The food is amazing, but you have to make reservations for every dinner and even then they might screw it up. Our reservations were cancelled once and then set for 2 people instead of 6 for the next night. They then seriously rushed us through the meal.

On the up side, the food was incredible and the rooms were nice. The showers were amazing, though not thoroughly cleaned. The keys to the room continually stopped working and we had to go back to the front desk a few times which was a nuisance. I have stayed at other resorts in the area and they truly were all inclusive and very nice."

"We really had a great time, the food was great. as for the resort it has shown some nice improvements since our last stay back in Feb 2004 (known then as Melia Turquesa) but can still use a little bit more building renovations. As for people complaining about having to sign for everything it was no big deal, got use to it by the second day. I would definitely would go back."

"I never write reviews, but I feel that I have to for this one. First the good things: The beach, the ocean and sand are superb...simply superb. The sand is powder and the ocean water is turquoise blue - beautiful... there are bunch of exotic birds fishing on the fly - quite a scenery. The hotel and facility is very nice., not the top notch, but pretty comfortable and stylish. The hotel's layout is excellent, everything is at your hand reach: the pool, the pool bar, the beach restaurant, and the beach - great job! The also have adults only area (where the bed is $40 mind you... when massus makes $8/day and waiter makes $4/day). That area is secluded, has its own entrance to the beach - great!

Now the bad: ABSENCE OF CONCEPT OF CUSTOMER SERVICE - TOTAL ABSENCE IN REGARDS TO EVERYTHING!!!!!!! Don't get me wrong, they smile when they see you, but that's all. Management of this place sucks! Nobody knows what they are doing, or where the things are, or how things work. if you need to find something out, they'll look at you like you are an alien, pretend that they don't speak English, and when you politely ask them again the same question, they will bring you to the front desk managers's desk, where usually 4-6 other managers are hanging out. Everybody is going to look at you with examining eyes and then the manager will make a hand gesture to let one of his 'proteges' know that you need to be taken care of... Are you for real?????!!!!! And I'm not a spoiled and fussy New Yorker who is picking on things, that was happening all the time, like every single time I needed to find something out, and they don't give out information easily. You have to work for it, almost it's like they are doing you a favor giving you an information. Moreover, nobody is really trained, and got forbids you ask a question like can I take the leftovers with me, they will look confused for a minute and then to top it off they will say NO!!!!::)) The only people who worked hard in that place were the maids, and the waiters in dinner restaurants. Everybody else was bad!!! Even the managers in the lobby were ambiguous. Women-managers were glancing me up and down - not professional. Oh, they also locked our room at night because the security found out (HOW???))) that we had a laptop on our bed, so they decided to make our room key not work. First of all, what right does security even have to enter our room without notice, they are not maids!!!

FOOD WAS BEYOND DISAPPOINTING. Maybe I'm a picky eater, but when I order ramen and they bring me lomein, that's not cool! The are trying to do western food, but they are not doing a good job on that at all. The pancakes, waffles, omelets, steaks, Japanese and Mediterranean options were NOT GOOD! I wish they just did Mexican (what they know) and I would be very happy. That's a shame because most of the ingredients were very fresh.

I will not be back and that's a shame because the hotel is beautiful, and if the management tried to do a good job, then it would be great, but they just don't care."

Nice looking resort.

Terrible customer service. Staff was not friendly and not willing to go out of their way to serve you.

Had to fill out a bill/check/tab for every drink, every dinner, every service. Basically, they wanted you to leave a tip every time that you ordered something. They would even chase you down if you didn't fill one out even if you waited 5-10 minutes for the darn thing!

No entertainment team which made things quiet around the pool.

Volleyball cost additional money! Seriously!

Everything that was 'cool' at the resort seemed to cost extra! $40 for a bed beside the pool! $$$ to join the infinity pool that had the DJ!

The food was great for the most part!

Rooms were very nice but no balconies except for the few very high end suites.

Would not go back to this resort."

"I was lucky enough to get this hotel for a couple of nights in Jan 2013 (1st -3rd Jan) and for around $250/night. For Cancun at this time, it was fantastic value. My room was spacious, had a great view of the ocean, was clean and well serviced. The hotel pool, bars, restaurants etc were also clean and offered good, friendly service. Loved the crowd, unexpected beach parties and style of the place. I would definitely stay here again for that price."

We stayed at the ME Cancun from Jan 2, 2013 to Jan 7, 2013. The hotel is very nice and clearn. The food was always excellent. We totally loved our stay but we did find that there are a lot of 'things' that are not all inclusive here. I'm not a big drinker but one night I asked for spiced rum and was told that it was not included unless I paid extra for an upgrade and there are only 2 wines included, one red and one white.... unless I wanted to pay extra. The minibar in your room has some things that are extra and some that are free so pay attention to what you use. The beach and pools were a highlight on our trip. You should know however, if you want to get an umbrella or a nice bed on the beach you need to get there very early (by 8am) or you need to pay an extra $45 for a Bali Bed. We were there during what everyone called the busy time so maybe that would have been different if we were there on a different week. I did find that if you don't tip you don't get the best service so bring lots of $1 bills. A few nights the hotel bars only had bar seating unless you want to pay for bottle service at a table (an extra $100 minimum) or you needed to go to another bar and there are several you can choose from. Most of the people worked all week long and would remember you and were very nice. It was pretty cool to have people remember you at such a big resort. Overall everything really was great and I loved every second of our trip just be prepared that it really is not all inclusive if you don't payfor 'The Level' or pay for the upgraded options up front if you want the little extras. If you don't care about the little extras then you would never notice or mind that it is not really all inclusive because you get all of your meals and basic drinks. They tell you up front if there is an extra charge so it is not like you are getting hit with hidden fees. There were many people that we talked to who switched to our hotel at the ME because they had such a terrible experience where they were so this hotel is known for its quality. The beach really is great and the pools really are beautiful. Everything looks just like it does in the online photos. Its not the most kid freindly place around but we didn't have kids so it was perfect for us. You also should make your dinner reservations early and I would recommend you do it for 2 nights at a time so you have more options, you can start making reservations at 9am. The food was AMAZING at all of the resturants and the breakfast buffett was good too with lots of options (made to order omlettes, creps, pancakes, waffles, plus lots of normal buffett stuff and a few things that were different each day) and even a smoothie bar!!
There are lots of trips that you can take and they are all worth the money that you pay but if you just want to relax this is the place to do it.Give your waiter a $5 tip when you get to the beach and tell them to take care of you and you will take care of them ...then you will be very well taken care of. Even if you don't tip they will take care of you but you may want to order 2 or 3 drinks at a time because they can take a while to get back to you. But again, maybe if it was less busy that might not be the case. Either way, I would totally recommend this hotel and even though I think we will try another place next time, I will most likely go back to ME Cancun.

"This is our third trip to Cancun. We tried another property and decided on the ME for it had excellent reviews and a four-star rating with AAA. We booked The Level, which apart from dedicated check-in has nothing of a concierge level at any of the hotels we have ever stayed--and we are frequent travelers. The breakfast buffet is good, but it is all downhill from here. In fact the food is pretty awful. The lunch grill came to our table with flame-burned and blackened yet undercooked meat and shrimp--a health hazard with the latter. The grilled vegetables were large chunks of red pepper barely heated, much less grilled. This came to the table in one plate for both of us. The server was quick to bring us additional plates and flatware. They were out of the day's salad; they were out of the surf-and-turf. The oil and vinegar cruets were delivered to another table, and since those guests did not want to part with them, eventually some got poured into little plastic containers and delivered to our table, with no salt or pepper. The desserts have been consistently inedible for they have been refrigerated and impregnated with a mixture of food flavors.
Dinners are in two restaurants where loud music is being played, with a constant beat that eventually makes you wish you would have ordered room service. When ordered herbal tea, they only had one choice as they were out of mint. Both Salt and Silk are dim lit, so be prepared to walk out with stains from whatever has been left behind by a previous guest.
Drinks are made with prepared mixes, and unless specified, they tend to be delivered virgin. You can sit by the pool almost two hours without a server ever coming by to take an order for a drink.
How this hotel got its AAA rating is beyond us, but it is a disgrace and dowright deceiving. Had this been our first trip to Cancun, it would be our last. Luckily we have had wonderful experiences at other properties in this town.
Senior management seems to be absent or inexistent. Faulty training is visible everywhere. Yet the hotel's staff is as friendly and courteous as can be, but they cannot compensate for all these shortcomings.
If you wish to be in the shade in the morning, expect to pay U.S.$50/day for a bali bed, otherwise you can avoid the pool area until the afternoon.
Again, it is a heartbreak that this hotel has been overrated but cannot deliver.
We came here for our wedding anniversary, but this is the worst hotel that we have stayed in during our lifetime. I guess we will never forget this trip!

"Its hard to find out where to start on the most unbelievable trip of our lives, but if you want to feel like Royalty then this is the place to stay. Me and my wife went to Me Cancun for our honeymoon during mid August, the weather was beautiful it only rained for maybe 30 minutes of our 5 day stay. I have heard many people complain about this resort but I have got not ONE bad thing to say about this resort. I stayed in The passion suite which is located on the 9th floor and it was beyond anything we could have dreamed for. From day one we were blown away, we checked in on the 10th floor specificaly for guests who pay for 'The Level' full all inclusive experience of which I highly reccomend if you stay here.
We got a quick check in and an overview of what our stay includes which is basicly everything, once we walked into our room we were blown away and right within 2 minutes there was a knock on the door and it was room service with a nice bottle of chilled champagne and huge chocolate covered strawberries. So we had a huge room with a large jacuzzi tub and an enormous patio with a bali bed and 2 chairs and a table overlooking the pools and ocean. The room comes with free snacks and a mini bar with free beer, soda, water and 3 bottles of liquor, one vodka, one whiskey, and one good bottle of tequilla.
There is also other items that are not free just like any other hotel in the world and they are clearly marked. So this hotel has 4 or 5 restraunts to eat at for dinner, which are all higher class like food and setting so if you do not follow their 2 simple rules you may get turned down at the seating. All they ask is to make reservations in which I did first thing in the morning, and also no sleevlees shirts for guys, no shorts and no beach flip flops. All the food we had was great, steak, lobster, shrimp and so on. The alcohol was free as we so order whatever you want drinks or shots, I believe there are some top shelf choices that cost money if you want to order like a crown royal and coke or a belvedere vodka drink, didnt bother me though enough alcohol will do me just fine.
The beach was immaculate, every morning at about 6 there would be employees out there racking the sand flat for looks and attempting to get seaweed that washed ashore off the beach. There are 3 main pools, the biggest pool is where most people hang out since there is a swim up bar, there is an infinity pool which was very relaxing and another pool just next to that which is usualy also calm. There is plenty of places to lay out in and out of the pool, but if you are a guest with the full level package then there are tons of covered beds with huts and you are allowed to reserve one each day and you can keep your stuff there, nobody is alloud to touch your bed and the pool employees will bring you whatever you want to drink or eat. We had a guy at the adult pool with our bali bed and he would bring us drinks and shots just randomly if we had nothing to drink, we would go out to the beach come back and there were drinks there waiting for us.
I did tip very often and it did say that all tips are covered by the all inclusiveplan but these guys worked very hard and were never rude to me so I tipped every meal, every room service, the housekeeping, and the bali bed serveres i tipped once a day, and the bar. I dont know if this is why they treated me so well but I dont think so, it really seamed like they enjoyed there jobs. So the food was amazing, the room was unbelievable and the service was to die for. Some people may complain about small stains or gouges and unperfections but its a hotel, not a new house.....its expected. I didnt have hair in my food or blood on my pillows or anything gross so Im fine with everything.
So YES highly recommend Me Cancun, I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend the full level all inclusive package, and I extremely reccomend staying in the passion suite. So thank you Me Cancun for everything and I have no complaints AT ALL.

"I traveled alone to the Resort and really enjoyed myself. The staff were extra friendly to me and very attentive. The food was delicious and I wish I could have taken home the fresh guacamole they make every day. Drinks were awesome and the swim up pool bar with seats in the pool is incredible.

This is not a typical all inclusive as you do have to sign for everything, and there are some items in the room that are not included. Items with green stickers were free, items with yellow stickers were not. They key items I was looking for -- water, diet coke and beer were free :) There is a 5.00 charge for room service, but I did not mind that at all - grateful it was available.

The only thing that suprised me about the resort was seeing young children. It my have been because I was there during the week, and not the weekend -- but I had been under the impression it was an adults only resort, There were not tons of families, but I specifically chose resort because I wanted to vacation around adults only. This did not really impact my stay -- I had an amazing time, I was just suprised.

The beachhouse and waterfront restaurants are amazing and the daily breakfast is out of this world. Very hard to come back to reality after staying at the Resort!!"

"This was a nice resort, but it is geared to the youth. Not everything is inclusive, there are hidden costs. My only beef is that we have to be subjected to the constant signing in a little black book, everything from drinks to food. Apparently, they are running a very tight ship here. The music is very techno with a constant all day and all night thumping into the wee hours of the morning. The halls are not very sound proof.They even play this music during dinner in their restaurants, should not have that type of music at dinner, not soothing at all. When I felt most insulted, was at check out time. They actually sent someone to our room to see if we had taken anything. It is a very nice resort if you want to be bothered with signing their little black book for food and drinks all day. Staff is courteous though. As for myself, from now on and head to the other resorts that offer a lot more for my money, without the bother of signing for everything at check out time, and better entertainment, and a 24 hour food service with lots of choices !"

"My spouse & I enjoyed our stay at the ME Melia but would like to provide future customers some feedback regarding our experience because if we had known some things that were not included with the ALL EXCLUSIVE package, we may have stayed elsewhere in Cancun. - Not all foods in the restaurants included in the All Inclusive package

- Majority of the in-room refrigerator items not included in the All Inclusive package

- Room service foods not included in the All Inclusive package (I believe its an extra $10 per plate plus tip)

- All Cabana's & chairs around the adult pool must be rented which means there isn't any sitting room for those that do not wish to rent one of these items

- In hotel activities for the customers were non-existent. The hotels adjacent to the ME Melia had multiple functions/events (Karaoke, Volleyball) occurring but the ME Melia had no such type of entertainment for the guests. You'll need to venture outside of the hotel for these activities or stroll over to one of the adjacent hotels.
