"I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel. The property is right on the beach and in walking distance to a ton of hot spots in Negril. The staff is super efficient and hospitable. Our room was cleaned to perfection daily. The food & drinks at the restaurant bar were better than many other places we ate at. I am so impressed with the cleanliness and beauty of the facilities that I will stay there when I return. "

"This is a beautiful resort on the beach. The scenery with all the different flowers and trees was wonderful to look at. It didn't give you the hotel vibe, like packed with guest and hear loudness all night. It was nice and quiet. We switched rooms upon arrival because of mosquitos. The staff was accomadating. Our next room was good but had some ants in the bathroom, which I could deal with. Do not expect 5 star hotel. This one was beautiful, intimate, personable. However if you are limited on funds like me, an all inclusive would be better. I did enjoy going to many of the local food places."

"First time visiting Jamaica and staying at the resort. Overall my room was decent, clean, and spacious. After that the other staff were friendly. Food was OK and not as described but the bartenders made up for that. I'll stay closer to Times Square to be near the ongoing festivities."

"The hotel appears to be well maintained with on going improvements. The rooms were large, with decent storage in the closets, free safes, and new AC. The week, our first time in Jamaica, was sunny each day. The AC in both of our rooms worked great, so good, we had to raise the temperature at night. The grounds were beautifully landscaped with native plants, large native plants. The foliage attracts insects to this spot to make a unique night time sounds. Loud and weird, like warning beacon sirens, calling to the lush jungle farms looming nearby in small mountain hills. The hotel compliments Negril's beautiful tropical geography. Negril is alluring, only small buildings, mostly 2 stories, 3 at most, no high-rises, no mega developments. Cozy, quaint, and buzzing with local business to indulge with beach side (and street side) food, drink, music, Blue Mountain coffee, an crafts. The hotel's beachfront is excellent, with a pool, bar, an abundant of chairs, no shortage of clean towels, and restaurant or bar serving. Even during the sold out, Christmas week, plenty of space at shaded tables or beach side deck and bar. The beach, street, have lots of shops selling nick-knacks, various hotel dining options, and shack restaurants, including alcohol service. Various people roam around the beach selling food, crafts, boating activities and tours. Negril is active but not over populated. One soon gets used to all all of the surrounding tourist guests and venders. The Palms is on the North end, and in walking distance of the whole beach scene enabling a variety of options to choose from. The hotel's food was decent, and prices reasonable. There are a few cheaper places around but most of the nearby hotels have the same or higher prices for food and drinks. On the street, a few restaurants, had better Blue Mountain blends, but this requires walking and exploration on the beach or street. The hotel staff were extremely friendly, and worked very hard serving all of the guests promptly. The bathrooms had been, and are being upgraded with newer sinks, fresh paint, and stone lined showers. Not perfect, but good, significantly nicer than a neighboring hotel we looked at. The Palms clearly tried to make sure things were clean, and fixed for the important busy holiday season. They could install, extra hooks and towel bars, yet this is a minor issue. The rooms were fully cleaned promptly each day with clean sheets and full sets of towels. Most rooms had out seating on patios or balconies. The ambiance was ideal, the one issue to be aware of is sound. Glass doors are not the best sound bearers, and the rooms near the street have road noise. One of our rooms, was the most airy and sunny one but was subjected to the next door restaurant and bar's broadcasting music for a few hours each night. If noise is a concern, book one of the more secluded rooms. Overall, we were pleased. The Palms seemed popular, it was sold out, and the guests included a few Jamaican families on their holiday vacation, and veteran tourists to the island. There was parking for our rental car, The lot was guarded by a street side gate and attendant. There was also attentive security at the beach preventing unauthorized people from entering the property. "
