"While most of the amenities were enjoyable I did have an issue arise that took 24 hours to resolve, and only because. I persisted forgetting resolution. Our first room discourages operational telephone or television. After repeatedly going to the front desk to report the problems the television was finally repaired at 9pm. The telephone could not be repaired and required a room change which only came after I demanded to speak with someone in guest s e services . This really wore on me given this was a 75th birthday gift for my mom and I.Oberstar came highly recommended by a fairly member who stays at the resort in Mexico. To add insult to injury my group which included 9 persons was promised a birthday cake for Thursday night's dinner. We never received the cake.228279"

"We went in what I thought was the perfect time of year (Late April). It was before the rainey season, so it was not too hot. We felt the Beach hotel, compared to the Suites was a better value for the money. The postives were the property newness (compared to other Jamican hotels) the inside bar pouring great drinks. We went to the steak and Cajun reservation hotels and felt the buffet food quality was just as good, so that was a disappointment. Other negatives were, the pool bar watering drinks, the lateness of the 'open appointments at the speciality rest, the nightly activity...There was not much going on in the evening other than drinking, there was a hokey cruise line show each night...in fact the whole experience reminded me of a land cruise ship."

"I was very impressed by the staff, the overall cleanliness of the resort but I was very disappointed in the food. I truly enjoyed Jambalaya- the Cajun restaurant. The food was fantastic. I was disappointed by the food at Uncle Tony's. My potato was cold even though the waiter brought me another potato and the steak seasoning was not to my liking at all. At the Japanese restaurant, Samurai, my taste buds were primed for Hibachi /Teppanyika Grill style cooking. The food was not seasoned as it should have and the vegetables were not Asian at all. I was expecting beansprouts, onions, bok choy,snow peas,etc.. but what they did serve was string beans, carrots, cabbage, green, red peppers, squash. The shrimp and steak dish that I ordered was not seasoned with the spices from the orient but more Caribbean style seasoning which changed the taste of the meal completely. I will be very cautious as to where I will eat or I wold just continue to frequent Jambalaya Restaurant because it was the best.
I loved Iberostar but I will stay at one of the other hotels just to determine if the chefs are more knowledgeable about the cuisine that is being offered. Also,I was concerned as to why airport to hotel transfers were not included in the all-inclusive fare."

"The bar staff and restraunt wait staff were very good, attentive, We were disappointed that we could not have lime or mint for mojitos. This certainly could be imported. We have gone to Iberostars in Mexico, Riveara Maya and Cozomel, we did not need to pay for Wifi, this too was disappointing. The shows were entertaining but the entertainment staff were not interactive as much during the day that I have seen at the other resorts. The beach was great and very well maintained."

"What a great place and experience! My wife and I went with our three college-age kids, and we all had a great time. The flights were uneventful both ways, which is just what you want them to be, and Air Tran treated us very well. The Iberostar resort is a modern complex with three main buildings, several restaurants, and large swimming pools immediately adjacent to the beach. The staff was uniformly welcoming and friendly, always ready to help or bring you anything you may need. Everything was immaculately clean, both in the rooms and in the common areas, and room service was attentive and unobtrusive. You can eat and drink at any time of day and night. There are three restaurants where you need to make reservations well ahead of time, unless you don't mind eating dinner at 8:30. On the other hand, the 'standard' restaurant where you can eat without reservations has a buffet of staggering variety and good quality. They serve the original Jamaican Mountain Blue coffee, which is much more flavorful than any other coffee we ever had. On the beach or around the pool, a waiter or waitress walks by your chair every few minutes asking if you'd like a drink. You can sail (on hobie cats) or kayak for free. We all had fun on our (paid) snorkeling trip to a small nearby reef, and saw colorful fish and sea animals. The people who run the watersport facilities were very friendly and helpful, and so was the guide who took us on a shopping trip to Montego Bay (about 7 miles away)."

"It was a very nice vacation spot I will visit this place again in a heartbeat but I would stay in the grand part of the resort only because you get access to the whole resort resturants and activities but the beach is very very nice and the stAff was wonderful. "The Iberostar Rose Hall Beach was great. Staff attitude was excellent, food was good to very good. Accommodations were as seen in the photos. Close to the airport.
Only negative comment is to not get the round trip shuttle to the airport. I waited an hour at the airport on the bus until 'everyone was accounted for'. The airport is a short taxi away - especially if you have more than 2 people. On the way back to the airport, they pick you up 3 1/2 hours before your flight so you are sitting in the airport instead of at the pool! JTL (the bus company) is the worst. Skip them."

"Hotel was extremely nice would definitely go back for a stay! Only thing we learned while we were there is that the grand, the suites and the beach are all connected and essentially is on large hotel but the grand was adults only which we probably would have stayed at and the suites seemed to be geared more towards families with kids while the beaches was a mix of couples and families. The beach had the least amount of restaurants but the food was excellent and the drinks were great you had the choice of top shelf liquor. Security to the resort was excellent and it was about 1/2 hour from the airport we were the last stop for drop off most of the other resorts were a little closer. Very relaxing vacation definitely would go back room was clean and uPdated and air conditioning worked fine which I had read was a concern in other reviews."

"Just got back on July 26 and had a great time. I went with my husband and 3 kids ages 12, 9, and 7 and this was our first international vacation and all-inclusive trip. My husband is Jamaican and he was blown away and already wants us to plan our next trip there. We spent 2 days in Kingston visiting family. The resort and staff were great. I had mixed feelings before going from some of the negative comments, but everything was wonderful. I do not know where these people come from with there negativity. We waited only about 10 min upon arrival to check-in and this wait was because we had 2 people ahead of us, not a problem at all. The front desk personnel was very helpful and explained everything to us in detail. There was never any attitude problems at all from any staff. We made 2 reservations for the specialty restaurants and had no problems with making them or when we went. The staff kept you entertained throughout the day and every staff that passed by you would always ask if you were ok or needed anything. The bartenders at the pool bar kept up with everyones orders and the drinks were great and never watered down. The bartenders never gave any attitudes no matter how many drinks you ordered and they would actually remember you and what your prior order. The food was good and plentiful. We utilized the Lucy's kids club a little while there and it was fine. The rooms were nice and they were able to accomidate our request for joining rooms which was very relieving and helpful for our family of 5. The prior comments about the replenishing of the minibar makes no sense to me. One, they inform you upon check-in that the minibar in the rooms are re-stocked every 2 days and that is also on you informational packet. Why you would need it to be re-stocked more than that is beyond me unless your inside your room the entire time your there. Two, If you do need additional drinks, there are plenty of bars that you can get something at and they will give you plastic cups instead of glass if you plan to go back to the room. The minibar temperature did not feel ice cold but the items in there did remain cold. The room temperature setting is in C not F, so maybe that confused some people. However, the A/C and fan does turn off when your not in there. But once you come in and turn it on and the fan, everything is good. There is a smell when you first come in the room, but it quickly goes away. Lastly, I wanted to mention the tipping. All tips are included in the all-inclusive. The staff never forced any additional tips on you or came off with a attitude if you didn't tip. We would tip occasionally. Overall great experience and can't wait to go back. I plan to do a big family trip with sibilings and nieces."

"This was my first time to an all inclusive facility. I absolutely loved this facility. The people were extremely wonderful and very nice. The facility states that it's a 3 star but that is so untrue...this is definitely a 4.5 star in my mind. Normally pictures of hotels are overrated, however in this instance, the pictures were underrated. This hotel was beautiful! I only had one issue, after 930p, there wasn't anywhere to get anything to eat or snack on. Other than that, no complaints at all. And I have been to many places and in different countries. This was my favorite and I'm going back, soon. I'm also planning on staying at an Iberostar hotel in the Dominican Republic next year."

"On July 4th my boyfriend and I stayed at this resort to attend a friends wedding for 5 days. This was our first experience going to an all-inclusive.
Overall the stay was enjoyable and average.
Rooms- The rooms were as described on bookit, and were clean. We did have an awesome view of the ocean from our second floor location facing the beach. Our house keeping was good at keeping the room clean and providing what we ask for. We made a few requests for specific soda for our room and it was promptly provided.
Food - The food was overall average. The restaurants were a just little better than the buffet, and we found that almost all of the meat provided was always overcooked. I was pleasantly surprised that the buffet was actually good, as I have had bad experience on past vacations with buffets. Make sure if you order from the restaurants that you ask for your meat cooked less than how you normally eat it, or it will be tough and chewy.
Resort - Overall the resort was well maintained and clean including all of the bathrooms that I used on the property! We stayed at the Rose Hall Beach resort which also has two adjacent properties, however the Beach is the 'lowest' of the three. We did walk to the others and noticed that the decor and surroundings were much more modern and 'classy' than the resort we stayed at. Also staying at the lowest resort, you do not have dining privileges at the other 2 sister hotels, if you stay at the top (Grand) you have dining at all three. We did however check out the buffet at the grand and it was the same food, just a quieter, more classy atmosphere. Our hotel seemed to be a little bit younger crowd and more of a 'party' atmosphere where as the grand was more upscale and quiet.
Beach - The beach was adequate with enough stretch to walk and enjoy, however there was a lot of sea grass on the bottom, which in turn leads to murky and not so clean water. The swimming area is also roped off and has a lot of sea grass and rocks on the bottom. We did enjoy the all included non motorized water activities such as kayaking, however we felt the parasailing at $125 was too expensive for a 10-15 minute ride.
Bars- All the servers at the bars were friendly and we only encountered one bartender who seemed to 'work for tips'. We did tip at this resort here and there when we were given good service and also to our cleaning lady. The drinks were never skimpy and kept flowing.
Pool - The resort had a nice sized pool complete with a swim up bar, however this was the biggest disappointment for me, that they close the pool every night at 7pm. I thought this really odd for a resort to do, as most other places leave the pool open until 11pm or 24 hrs. I had not read this in any of the reviews I read, so I wanted to make sure I pointed it out in mine.
Spa - I did visit the spa to check out the prices for massages and glanced at the entire menu while I was there. I found these also to be overpriced, which is typical at resorts and on cruise ships. I did not pay the $170 for a 50 minute massage, which I thought was ridiculous.
Overall I would score this resort a B- due to the food being overcooked and the pool closing so early. We did enjoy our time in Jamaica, but do not think we would return to this resort."

"I just returned from my AWESOME TRIP to Jamaica. 7/8/12...The Iberostar Rose Hall Beach Resort was wonderful! The staff were GREAT and very friendly. I traveled with two of my sisters and we were able to make reservations for 2 of the restaurant. Tip: Make your reservations for the resturants as soon as you arrive. We Loved the Cajun one the best. I ordered the duck which was really good!! The steakhouse was good too. The activites were awesome. We Parasailed 200 feet in the air along with Jet Skiing in Montego Bay! Can't wait to go back! I would definately recommend Iberostar too everyone!"

"What a disappointing trip! For the last two years I hae taken my daughter to the Iberostar Beach for her birthday week. Last year it was wonderful. No problems. It couldn't have been better.
This year was a disappointment. We arrived at the hotel on Saturday June 23. When we entered the room, we found that there was only one chair on the patio outside our room instead of two. I called the desk and was told it would be right up. On Monday it was still not there after several more calls only to be told it would be right up. Finally the chair showed up on Tuesday.
The mini bar in our room was supposed to filled every two days. It was full on Saturday, refilled on Monday and then not filled until the Friday we were leaving.
Again many phone calls and trips to the front desk resulted in still no filling of the fridge. Not only that the fridge was not keeping anything cold. We went five days with no water in the room.
Each time we spoke with someone either on the phone or at the desk, we were told they would send someone right up. That never happened. Not to mention that one of the front desk personnel was very rude. This is not in the true style of the Jamaica people.
the day before we left, we wanted to check in with Air Tran so we went to guest services to ask for help. They told me to buy time in the internet cafe and check on line. I immediately told them that Air Tran did not allow on line check in for international flights (since this was what we were told by Air Tran when we left). The guest services rep continued to argue that we could. So to prove my point I wasted money on the internet cafe only to read the website that said we could not heck in on line but we could call for seat assignments. I went back to the guest services and was told they didn't have Air Trans phone number to call for us. This resulted in my daughter having to make an international call on her cell phone costing us quite a bit of money just to make seat reservations.
The room was also full of little gnats which bit both of us during our stay. Nothing was done about this either. I could go on but it makes me very angry to think of all the money we spent on our vacation and it did not live up to the services we had last year."

The front desk staff was rude when we reported a problem. We were told that it would be taken care of right away. It wasn't. For instance, there was only one chair on our patio deck. We asked for a second on Saturday when we arrived and was told it would be right up. It wasn't until after 4 phone calls that we finally received one on Monday.

"The overall experience was wonderful.
Getting there and back was a different story. I would NOT recommend setting up transportation to the hotel ahead of time through Jamaican Tours. After a very long day of travel we had to wait about 45 minutes for a bus and then once we got on it we had to wait another half hour to 45 minutes for it to take off even though all the people were on the bus. Then to get back to the airport they scheduled our pick up time 4 hours before our flight. When we tried to change it we couldn't, when we wanted our money back there were no refunds. So we ended up in the airport for 3 1/2 hours early which was added to the 13 hours of travel we had ahead of us. When you arrive at the airport there are tons of transportation options that went quicker than ours.
When we arrived at the resort the room had a musty smell that bothered me the whole first night. However, the smell went away once the air conditioner and the fan ran for a little while. The room must have been closed up for a while before we got there. The beach was beautiful and the pool was nice. It was difficult to find a spot near the pool and even if you did, the seats were right on top of one another so it did not feel very comfortable. We sat on the beach each day instead to have a little more space. Since the pool was so close we could swim in the pool or the ocean from there. The drinks and food were plentiful and good. The deserts were not very tasty. They looked great but they lacked flavor. The specialty restaurants were good, but the deserts were not any better there. Luckily, there were many sweet drinks that we used as a substitute for desert.
We enjoyed the hour of kayaking and snorkeling each day. The swimming area had some areas of rocks where you could see many beautiful fish. We even saw a small sting ray and a puffer fish in the swimming area. We went on a snorkeling excursion. It was $40 dollars per person and it was worth it. The boat took us out to the reef and the guide showed us around and explained what different things were. We saw a big sting ray, lots of beautiful fish, and the reefs were beautiful. We used the gym a few times during our stay and it was clean and had enough equipment to get in a good workout. Overall the experience was relaxing, and wonderful. I would recommend it to a friend."

"This Iberostar was a big disappointment. Our room was hot, our refridgerator was hot, we had to request refills on bottled water every day, and the 'all inclusive' turned out to not be all inclusive on the reservation restaurants. There was not a lot to do. Some of the staff were unfriendly, although most were wonderful. The 'Beach' Iberostar was obviously a step below the two 'upgrade' Iberostar resorts that were attached to ours and that was not a good situation. I would not recommend this resort."

The only advise is to ask for a room NOTon the corner, they face the evelator and everyone can look right onto your balcony as they exit!....Other than that it was a wonderful anniversary vacation for my husband and I. "We are comparing this stay to trips we have done in the past 2 years. This resort was nice, but the grounds were not spotlessly clean. The beach was beautiful with manngo trees fairly close to the water to provide natural shade. The pool was very nice and it was warm. The food at the lunch buffet tended to have no varity and was usually over cooked. In order to eat at a specialty restaurant you make the normal reservations ahead of time. For some reason we could only get bookings at 9p. The Japanese restaurant was excellent. Breakfast buffet was very good. Staff - pool side and entertainment excellent. Very very attentive. It was sometimes hard getting questions answered from the front desk and the taxi services. Also we wanted to book some time in the spa (read spend money) but after not being able to find the spa and then being politely chased out of the adjoining suites and grand by security staff we just weren't too happy. A guard from the Grand did escort us to the spa, but once we were there we couldn't get anyone's attention to book anything. No one at the counter and no one else seemed like it was there job to talk to us. We wanted a relaxing shopping trip so I thought we would grab a taxi to Montego bay and then grab one back when we were ready. That's not exactly how it worked. We ended up with a taxi and the expectation was that this same driver would take us to town, shop with us, wait for 2 hours, and then bring us back. So we ended up on a schedule even when we didn't want to be... And of course we ended up waiting 25 minutes for him since he was out getting other fares. People in town were very very demanding of our business / we owed it to them to spend money and tip everywhere. At dunns falls our guide did an excellent job. At the beginning he told everyone that if you liked the tour and wanted to express your gratitude, then he would appreciate it. Very nice, very polite. At the end of the trip, he was immediately in front of everyone saying / demanding 'you got tip for me!?'. Then, instead of just walking back through the gates to the tour bus, you must go back through a shopping area filled with very pushy sellers. So overall, a nice place to visit once, but we will not go back."

"Recently stayed here with my 25 and 11 year old daughters. Absolutely one of the best vacations we've ever had. We were unexpectedly upgraded and our room overlooked both the beach and the pool. The rooms, hotel and hotel grounds were extremely clean. The staff was fabulous and went out of their way to ensure we were enjoying our vacation. We had to drag my younger daughter from her final beach volleyball game 15 minutes from check-out so she could shower. I've been to all-inclusive resorts before and the food is usually 'okay' Not the case here. The buffet was outstanding and catered to any taste. Made to order omelets, made to order pasta, carving stations, seafood-you name it. Only tried to Japanese restuarant-it was okay, but I think the buffet out did it. Only heard negative reviews about the steak house so we didnt even try it. The only complaint would be that the extra-water related options were a bit pricey, but you definitely do not need to partake in any to enjoy your vacation. I would definitely stay here again."

"The accommodations were very nice. I traveled with another family so we wanted to be near each other; they made every effort to ensure we were on the same floor. We ended up with oceanfront upgrades right next to each other. The food and drinks were awesome. If you were hungry or thirsty at anytime, it was your own fault. The variety of food was amazing. The food was very tasty. The service was attentive and friendly. The liquor served at most of the bars was top shelf. The bartenders were also very accommodating to the adults. I think they could be more friendly to the kids that request a non-alcoholic drink (as kids don't tip). The beach was beautiful. I think guests need to show more respect for the island by taking care of their own garbage (straws, papers...). I found guests to be rude in that respect. The entertainment staff was full of energy and kindness. There were many engaging activities during the day. At night, my daughter and I enjoyed all the shows as the dancers and singers were very talented. My family and I had an excellent time and would recommend the Iberostar to family and friends."

"this property never disappoints!!! The staff is always friendly,courteous and professional. Upon check-in I was upgraded to an oceanfront room with the most beautiful view ever!!!!! On my last day I asked about the presidential suite!!! It was available and for not much more I got upgraded to the most beautiful suite I have ever stayed in for some time!!! The balcony was huge with a jacuzzi that could hold around four adults over looking the crystal clear caribbean sea with at least 20 foot ceiling through out. The bathroom had a jacuzzi tub for two with a separate shower. The hospitatlity was absolutely amazing!!! I will be back in July 2012 with my other half!!! I will definitely do another review on this upcoming summer vacation!!!! Without a doubt I know I will be impressed!!!!"

"I cannot find the right words to say about this resort. I have a reputation for only liking the finer things when i stay away from home, but i was dumbfounded when i arrived. It started at the airport, everyone was SOOO friendly. The customs agents are usually the first people you talk to when you arrive, they were so nice and know how to do their jobs. They moved the line along so we can get started on our vacations. Finding my ride to the hotel was a little confusing at first but i found my way. The buses were clean and on time. After the short ride i arrived at one of the most beautiful places i have ever seen! Absolutely exquisite. After i checked in, i was handed a Miami Vice (If you don't know what that is, you will by the time you leave Jamaica). The bellman showed me to my room and made sure everything was ok. One day i had trouble entering my room due to a broken door lock which was replaced promptly and had no other problems. The food is outstanding! The people so friendly, the staff so ON POINT, the place so clean. The bathrooms were amazing. The only thing i would suggest is putting locks on the screen doors. Oftentimes i slept with just the screen door to catch the cool breeze at night, but since i was traveling alone, i was afraid someone could just walk on in since my room was sitting on top of the lower roof, so it would be easy to jump over the small wall. But no problems. I also think for paying this much, the wifi should be free. No complaints here and i am so excited to come back in 2012, depending on if the prices come down a little......*whew*"

"How can I put my stay at Iberostar in one word...FANTASTIC! From the second I entered the spacious hotel I was greeted with a warm hello and promptly sent to the kitchen to get some dinner after a long flight. . And the food at the buffet...INCREDIBLE! Everything from the selection of foods to the cooking made me think they had kidnapped my mother and had her secretly working in the kitchen. My bed was so comfortable that almost had a hard time getting up. All the amenities were provided up to standard. The fitness area was just what I needed to burn off the calroies from the delicious food they served. There wasn't a single thing that I wanted that wasn't provided during my stay. The pool,gameroom,internet and other areas were very well maintained. THE STAFF WAS GREAT! They mad me feel as if I had been there before. As a first timer coming to Jamaica I have to say that Iberostar represented the island with FOUR STAR SERVICE! "
